The Common Threads Guild
(New York) has been spinning and knitting
The Esker Scarf,
a free
Ravelry pattern by guild
member Jen Maynulet.
Jen, who designs as Jen May, wrote the pattern for the 4-Ounce Challenge!
sponsored by
Hello Yarn,
Southern Cross Fibre, and
Spunky Eclectic. Participants were to design a pattern using 4 ounces or less
of handspun yarn. Jen named her scarf after the winding, sinuous ridges of sand
and gravel deposited by receding glaciers called eskers.
Jen is a twenty-something
chemistry major living in New York. She is also a spinner, knitter, painter, and
sculptor. You can find Jen as cthulhulovesme on www.ravelry.com.
