Correction to Brioche Basic Book Excerpt, Winter 2013

The gauge in the Brioche Basic excerpt from Ann Budd's book The Knitter's Handy Book of Top-Down Sweaters on page 76 should be: 4.75 sts and 8.25 rows = 1" (2.5 cm) in brioche rib patt using larger needle for RS rows and smaller needle for WS rows.

In the article Bedouin in the Big City, the caption for Photo 3 (p. 49) should say, "One of Umm Hamad's weavings made from her handspun yarn." Tracy's first weaving is the black and white one Umm's working on in Photo 2.

Correction to Golden Hour Bag, Spin-Off Spring 2012

The original chart was missing a row the updated chart can be found here and has 32 rows. On Page 94, it should read: Begin working Rnds 1–32 of Golden Hour Chart. At the top of Page 96, it should read: Repeat entire chart 2 more times (96 rnds.) A total of 107 rnds will be worked after turning ridge for bag body.

Missing illustration credits, Spin-Off Fall 2011

Correction: We failed to credit the source of the illustrations on page 54, 55, and 56 of Quick Fixes for Antique Wheels by Pat Bownas in the Fall 2011 issue of Spin-Off--the illustrations on page 54 and 56 were pulled from the Spinning Wheel Primer by Alden Amos and should be attributed to John Kyrk and Bill Hersey. The illustrations of splicing a drive band were pulled from the Spinner's Companion by Bobbie Irwin and were illustrated by Marjorie Leggitt. The illustrations of the bearings were created by Jason Reid, based on illustrations submitted by the author.

Correction to A Snug CVM Hat in the Summer 2009 issue of Spin-Off

We're very sorry about the incorrect directions for making a center double decrease. The directions should be as follows:

CDI = Center double increase. The CDI is made into one stitch: Knit into back and front of next stitch and then knit into back of vertical bar between those stitches.
Further clarification: Once you’ve knit into the back and front of the stitch, there will be a tiny vertical strand between the 2 new stitches–lift that strand and put it on left needle and knit into back of it. The increase makes a total of 3 sts where there had been 1 st before. It’s a special double increase.
