We have a fun event planned for the Spin-In on Saturday October 8, 2011 and want to let you know about it ahead of time so that you can start thinking about it. If you're interested in applying for a SOAR 2011 Scholarship, the guidelines have been posted on our website. Applications must be submitted by February 8, 2011. We've also created a SOAR Scholar's Blog for SOAR Scholars to post their reports about what the learned at SOAR and how they took it out to their community. We've added 1-day classes on Thursday to SOAR. See the selection here and sign up. Jacey Boggs, Maggie Casey, Sara Lamb and Deb Menz, Amy Clarke Moore (that's me), and Judith MacKenzie have agreed to add an additional class to help keep up with the demand. Judith's class filled immediately, but there is still room in the other classes. Sara Lamb and Deb Menz are team-teaching a dye workshop that will be in the afternoon only, the other classes are morning and afternoon--but with time...(read more)

So, are you excited? Registration for SOAR 2010 opens tomorrow at 1 p.m. Eastern time. Last week we were busy testing the online registration, and I got to sign up for all sorts of classes. I had a great time selecting my workshop and retreat sessions, fantasizing about dyeing with cochineal, combing Suri alpaca, or spinning all sorts of arty, recycled yarns.
