I would say rip it out and reknit. The color is beautiful and now you have learned enough to know what the yarn is going to do you can take that in to account as you reknit.
I would tear it apart and re-knit. You have learned so much from your mistakes, that in itself is a victory.
You will be so happy that you conquered it. It should be a little easier as you know the pattern. Go for it.
I too have been learned about silk and dyeing it with indigo. I am so happy to read your article as I was unaware that silk grows. Always good to know. Thanks for a great article.

I think it makes a wonderful teaching example just as it is.
I would sit for a few mins., Think about it, get over it and rip it out "OH NO" I don't want to. BUT it's my money I put in this roving to make my own yarn.I bought this pattern and darn right I'm going to rip it out and start over again. MINE,MINE,MINE ALLLLLLLLLL MINE. When someone wants one I'll MAKE ONE FOR THEM,And thEy can buy the yarn and my time I put in it.
