Hello!

I am severely new, meaning I don't even have a spindle yet, but I'm confused as to the whole process - from a bunch of fluffy fiber to a finished product like a scarf.

I know spinning is first. Do I wind it into balls straight away after I've spun it?

Is plying second?

What is this thing where people wet their yarn and weigh it down while it's drying?

If I wanted to try dyeing, what stage can I do it? Before spinning? Before plying? If it's the latter, do I dye it in a skein, before winding it in a ball?

Where do you get mordant ingredients? I live in Poland, we don't really have craft stores and such. All the Polish blogs I found talk about dyeing for felt art, one mentioned soaking their stuff in vinegar after dyeing... Does this work for clothing items as well?

Basically, what I'm asking is, what are all the steps you need to take to get from wool to having a yarn ready for knitting/crocheting/etc?
