I live in central Illinois right next to the timber that I love so much. My place is called Native Acres. I make goat milk soap and herbal bath products. I also, along with my friends travel to festivals and demonstrate spinning and dyeing the wool with native plants. I have a flock of Border Leicester sheep, 2 Alpacas, 3 Angora rabbits (and three new bunnies), a shetland sheep and two cheviot sheep. I also have Nubian dairy goats as I make goat milk soap and goat milk bath products. I have two horses, a Bernese Mountain dog and a Great Pyrenese dog, cats, chickens and a peacock! My friends and I give spinning and dyeing seminars.

Native Acres was started by my mother and I in 2000. We wanted to teach others about living with the land, how you can better take care of yourself and teach others the ways of our ancestors. By doing this we are keeping the traditons of our Ancestors alive. My mother passed away 6 years ago, and since then I not only have continued with Native Acres but now I also am the sole caretaker of my father who has Alzheimers. In my spare time, I volunteer at the nearest Cancer Center, helping cancer patients cope with the side effects and pain of their disease.

I am so happy to find this sight so I can connect with other spinners and share thoughts and ideas!

Happy Spinning Everyone!!!
