I'm a newbie and had a general question on how spinning works. When you are dressing the distaff and then spinning, how much yarn can you spin off of one distaff before you have to join more unspun fiber in? Are you limited by how long the fibers (say a bast fiber like flax) were when you combed them out on how much you can put on the distaff?
I would assume you can pull all the fiber off the distaff when spinning the splice the old end with the newer material going onto the distaff. Also you can add some when you stop for the day
Do you need hand painted wool or hand dyed fiber feel free to stop by my store and see if there is anything you like
