I bought a Mason wheel this spring and I'm trying to get her to run. I have lost the screw that lifts the mother of all, but I'm also wanting to replace the driveband. It has a polycord but it seems to be stretched out. I think I can wedge something under the mother of all to lift it but when I tried with the polycord the yarn wouldn't pull onto the bobbin and eventually it popped off. I wanted to use a cotton string for a drive band but I'm not sure how I can tie it around the wheel. I did try with some crochet string once but it just popped off when i went to peddle.
Does anyone have any experience with these wheels? Anyone use a cotton band as a drivecord with them and can tell me how it should go around?
