I've been spinning about 2 yrs on drop spindles and can make really nice yarn of most any weight I choose, either worsted or long draw. My problem is that my hand is starting to hurt from all the winding on, so I'm shopping for my first wheel to eliminate the pain.

There is a used, almost new Ashford Traditional double drive wheel for sale for $350 which seems to be about the going rate for these. It would come with the 3 bobbins, lazy kate and book also. Would this be a good wheel to start with? I've read that single drive is easier to understand, but I've read enough about the mechanics to understand the workings of the DD, but are they really that much harder to adjust for the tension and rate of draw on?

I mostly prefer spinning fingering to sport weight yarns and knitting with yarns that range or even up to worsted weight. My default spun weight seems to be a light sport weight too, lucky for me I guess.

Unfortunately the closest shop where I could sit in front of a variety of wheels is about 2 hrs from me. So, would this Ashford be a good wheel to consider?
