Hi, and welcome to the forum. I'm glad you clarified your first post! I've found this forum to be a little slow with responses. It is possible to make your own drop spindle with a dowel, wooden toy wheel from a hobby shop, a cup hook, and some glue (if needed). If you want a larger whorl, a CD can be used with a rubber grommet in the hole to make the hole smaller and help hold it to the dowel. Will you be able to obtain fiber?

I would be glad to send you my first spindle that I learned on, that is if you were talking about learning to spin using a drop spindle. It is the one that came with the Louet Learn to Spin kit and weighs 1.5 oz, and I'd include the instruction booklet too

Hi Angela,

Are you able to watch videos? There are lots on youtube and the internet in general. That's how I learned to spin.
