I am a fairly new spinner, and so far have only spun my suri alpaca fiber.  Now I have purchased some wool roving and want to blend it.  How do I go about that?  Do I card it together?  Do I use two rovings - one alpaca, one wool?

Thanks for your input.

when blending fibers..the two fibers should be appox the same length but as you have roving to blend............

i would draft each roving out to the same thinest and hold them together for spinning them. I think you

would be able to see if one of the fibers is coming out more than the other & adjust as you go along.

Other ways would be to weigh each section of fiber, trying to get the same amount into the blend.

Alpaca is so much warmer than wool, maybe you would like a 25/75% blend, here is where the weighing comes in to help.

project in mind yet? give us more info and we'll try to be helpful
