Will you (or can you) offer old Spin Off magazines as PDF files?

I am more than willing to still pay the money for the download just like the patterns, but can immediately view the pages.

It would save publication costs for back issues.

Oh yes, that would be too great.  That is how I archive my National Geographics.  Every now and then NG sells their past copies on CD's (now DVD I would guess).  I have given away almost all of my Spin-offs dating back to BEFORE I ever thought about spinning (friend gave me her early copies before it was a magazine).  I just can't keep that much around the house.  But I would pay dearly to have them all in digital format to refer to.  PDF's are searchable but there are other formats too.  If you worry about piracy, PDF's can take care of that.

So, please, please, please offer an archive of all the old Spin-offs.  Thank you, Gwen Powell

Something along these lines is definitely in the works--and this will be the first place we announce it when it is ready.

I've been teaching a lot of new spinners in the last few years and there is no way for them to collect a lot of old issues which are full of so much information and inspiration.  So it will be great when you have some digital old issues available.  Linda in Billings, MT

Amy,

That's great.  Please keep me posted when older spin-offs are available.  Great idea.

That would be VERY exciting!!!  Old issues of Spin Off can be pretty hard to come by, I'd be delighted to be able to buy back issues as digital files!

It would be wonderful to have access to all that great information. I've been subscribing to Spin-Off since I started spinning in 2003 and was able to get a number of back issues. I find i frequently refer to those issues and would love having access to even more!

Sounds great, but what I've found impressive and useful for my other passion (gardening) has been Horticulture Magazine's DVD of back issues. Have you seen that? It would seem like the format to follow.

We're definitely looking at this kind of format.

I think that would be the best spinning news, ever! As a person not living in the US, I'm restricted to hunting ebay for past issues, and they can be extremely hard to come by. I'd be extatic if I can find a digital version Spin Off - more space for fibre!

Hooray! I'm currently rereading issues of SO that are from 1985 and '86, and I'm constantly surprised at the useful information that I didn't need before, but need now as I continue to grow as a  spinner. It's also interesting to see how prepping, spinning, and finishing have changed over the years. Unfortunately, I don't have a complete set, so having them on CD/DVD would be a nice addition to my library.

Also, thank you for posting indices to the articles as downloadable pdfs. It makes searching for a specific article a lot easier.

I can sympathise with this! S-O can also be over-priced when you do find a copy locally, and postage from the US for copies purchased on Ebay goes through the roof! I'm lucky that my local spinning group has some past issues that I can borrow, but sometimes its nice to have your own personal copy to refer to during a project!

More space for more fibre?  More likely more space for projects we will want to do, hehe!

cheers, Caroline

There is no such thing as too much fibre, just not enough storage space!
