I am working on my Kalahari Textile - this started off as an idea in my head and a way to fill and afternoon and is now going to be a hanging, and if I have enough left over a framed picture as well.    I thought a boxed frame, with a sample of the weaving, and the watercolour picture.

When I looked back at some of the other stuff I have done, I think I have enough to do a series of four, entitled Elements.  So this would be the fire one I think, I have a really good water one - leaving earth and wind.  For the wind I thought "bruised/brooding sky" so greys...

It is all keeping me out of mischief though and stopping me brooding on some other parts of my life which are somewhat chaotic.

hugs to everyone...

love Shani

Hi Shani

I just love those colours and the weaving is looking great.

Looking forward to the 15th.  I had to battle to get the room but as usual I win!!  have now booked all the mid months and end of months dates in the diary, so there is no chance of us not getting our dates.  Toby is on my friends list now on FB  but I'm sure you know that.

I hope things are looking a bit brighter. Pm me.

Beautiful fibres form a fibre swab in our danish guild. Hand painted BFL/mohair.
Going to be 3-ply sock yarn.
The fibres are a bit felted, but i'm always amazed of what pre-drafting can do to fibres, and how much more spinnable the fibres becomes.
I hope to reach approx 400m/100 g after plying

The color are so similiar to Monet "Waterlillies" http://www.thomasladegaard.dk/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/lgap646+nympheas-claude-monet-poster.jpg

Fibres after, and before predrafting
