It must be really nice to have an instructor like Maggie to get you started. I had one formal lesson in spinning. Everything else was from a book or SpinOff magazine.

Looking for that video set to be available.  Been self-taught for 12 years!!  No spinners near and no way to leave my mother.  Now I'm ready for those professionals and technique training!

I've been a book-taught spinner for a year and a half now - I'm SO looking forward to hearing a master spinner's tips and tricks!

I am a self taught spinner, been spinning for over thirty years.  I remember the spinning in the 1970's here in Australia.  More like a yarn they would use to dock the Queen Mary than something to knit with.  You had to spin in the grease, it had to be thick and chunky, etc.  I am now into fine spinning, the finer the better, but am looking forward to purchasing these DVD's to see an expert in action.  I believe you can always learn something new.

I was lucky enough to have Maggie as a teacher last Fall for Beginning Spinning at her shop www.shuttlespindlesandskeins.com - DO buy the CD it is bound to be great. She is a lovely, soft spoken, truly humble and nice person and a thorough teacher, I am sure that will come though. Maggie has a very relaxed attitude towards spinning and spinning 'mistakes'..."always blame the wheel" was one of Maggie's sayings. :) Maggie was a joy to learn from and I consider myself so very lucky to have been able to take her class.

I can't wait.  How soon before we can pre-order it.
