Hi! I was editor of Spin•Off magazine from 2000-2014. I started working at Interweave in 1997 as an Editorial Assistant. I am a fairytale-loving, spinning-, knitting-, beading-, weaving-, felting-, embroidering-, writer-mom and wife, among other things.
I earned an MFA in fiber arts from Colorado State University in 1997 and am a co-author of the book Beaded Embellishment: Designs and Techniques for Embroidering on Cloth with Robin Atkins, and the editor of All New Homespun, Handknit.
I now work at Great Work Inc, a nonprofit organization that promotes and supports the art and science of secondary
Montessori education and guides the preparation of educators and
learning environments. Part of my work involves visiting classrooms in local Public Montessori Secondary schools and working with teenagers--teaching spinning, weaving, knitting, felting, embroidery, beading.
